Excellent survival camping bracelet multipack, handy and useful. The pack is perfect for groups or families. The Paracord, whistle, compass, firestarter, and cutter are all condensed into this lightweight wearable design. Great for just in case go bags or for camping trips. Durable and handy to have.
Super happy!!! Overall Impression: Highly recommend! I would definitely buy these again for gifts! For a "survival" bracelet, it's the best I've seen. Why? THE COMPASS WORKS!!!!! Yes, all 3 compasses worked on each of the three bracelets I received! Why is this such a big deal? Because I've purchased just the buckle before and usually in a lot of 10, I'll have 3 that read correct to true north. That's a 70% fail rate. These bracelets? 100% success rate!!!
Do all 5 features work?
1) COMPASSES WORKED!! (They're small, so you need to get it level, then sometimes tap it to get it to pivot to north.)
2) Whistles worked - and were quite loud
3) Ferro rods worked (you need to wear off the black paint for a real spark to start flying.
4) "Rope cutter" should work without a problem, but it's essentially your ferro rod striker, so how long it remains sharp enough to cut rope is a good question.
5) And yes, it comes with Paracord. I don't think this is any special kind of paracord, but they all looked good. Can't wait to give them to my sons later.
Minor bad - My wrists are on the thick side, so it was close to being tight, but it was not tight. Anyone with larger wrists would have a problem with comfort. I measured it and you're looking at a 9.5" bracelet. If your wrists are that large, it'll be interesting to close the clasp!
Nice set of paracord bracelets with a few bonus survival tools included, I bought these for myself and to give to a couple friends on our next backpacking trip. It’s a cool looking bracelet. I wear a size large glove and the fit is still loose enough to wear over a shirt or jacket sleeve, but not loose enough to slip off. It’s very light and comfortable to wear.
The orange and black is made from two separate pieces of paracord. They are slightly melted together to keep the ends from separating, but if you wanted a single long piece of strong cord, you would want to knot them.
It has a standard nylon pinch buckle — seems sturdy.
The female side of the buckle holds a sharp, serrated blade that is 9/16th inch wide and a 1/4” deep. The blade is captive in the buckle and cannot be removed. But that’s a benefit because the shape of the buckle gives your thumb and forefinger a great grip and makes this tiny blade more useful. I used it to shave off some kindling and it works, though it takes patience.
The male side of the buckle has a tiny, but accurate, compass. If you get lost in the woods it will keep you from walking in circles and if you know that camp is northeast of your location, it could be lifesaver. Being small, the compass is very affected by any nearby metal, so don’t wear it on the same arm as your metal wristwatch.
Next to this is a small whistle. It’s very loud and would definitely save energy over yelling for help.
The last tool is a 3/4-inch long ferro rod fire starter. It’s covered in black paint that needs to be scraped off to get to the flint. Once there and using the tiny blade as the striking tool, I was able to get some small sparks, but not a large enough one to start a fire in some dry kindling and fire-starter material. I tried it with a separate small pocket knife I usually carry and got better sparks, but still no fire. While striking, you’ll likely see that you’re slowly shaving material off the two buckle clasps that surround the ferro rod. In a real emergency, I would break those nylon clasps off, destroying the buckle, but I think greatly improving your access to the ferro rod and your chance of successfully starting a fire. I think that’s a fair trade and I’m not going to fault the bracelet for it. Even full size ferro rods and strikers take some work, and most of those are 20X larger.
This is amazing!! They're so cool, they exceed the expectations and the price was a really good deal. They're adjustable and the colors look great.
